Third time lucky

Charlotte & James get Married at Waterton Park Hotel, Wakefield

Third Time Lucky
Waterton Park Hotel Wakefield

I first met Charlotte, and her mum at a Wedding Fayre at Waterton Park Hotel Wakefield almost 3 years ago now when they had come to look around the venue to think about booking it.

Charlotte & James origionally should have had their Wedding in June 2020, but unfortunately COVID caused them to re-arrange to May 2021 – and then yet again with restrictions in place they moved again to July 2021. Which will now forever be known as “freedom day”.

I don’t think any of us could really think that this day was happening until it was actually here! I have too waited so long for this lovely couple to tie the knot.

Would you believe that they’ve been together almost 10 years already!

I started Bridal Prep in Room 59 at Waterton Park Hotel Wakefield where Charlotte, her mum and two bridesmaids Steph & Kerrie were getting ready with her.

The room was so calm and tidy, definately not what I’m used to seeing whist Glam by Elizabeth Daisy and Terri Georgina Hair Stylist made the girls look amazing for the day.

Dad came by to see Charlotte, the dress and her look had been fully hidden from dad throughout the entire planning process, so it was a complete surprise for him.

Charlotte completed her look by wearing a hairslide from one of her dancing shows, and her mums veil.

The ceremony was planned fo 1pm in the Waterton Suite and was probably one of the first “Freedom Day” Wedding Ceremonies without limits and social distancing.

The bridesmaids walked down the aisle individually before Charlotte walked down the aisle with her dad to meet James stood nervously waiting at the bottom.

The ceremony looked amazing finished off with beautiful blossom trees from West End Florist

The ceremony was so lovely with two readings which is the first Wedding I have done that has had a longer ceremony since COVID started. It just made it so much more personal.

And it was so lovely to see Mr & Mrs Thresh finally get married!

After the ceremony we headed straight outside into the gorgeous hot sun to start group photographs and the drinks reception.

Luckily we had a couple of shady spots which the guests were grateful for as there was also a little breeze too.

The two previous dates that Charlotte & James had booked had rained so this was definately meant to be.

After the group photographs, thats when we started with photographs of the new Mr & Mrs, and myself, along with the videographers from Dave Spink Photography captured lots of lovely photographs of the newlyweds within the grounds of Waterton Park Hotel Wakefield – so many beautiful moments! The weather, albeit warm, was perfect!

After group photographs it was time to head inside for the Wedding Breakfast, then speeches were delivered after the meal by Father of the Bride, Groom, and the “second” Best Man, after the first, James’ brother was unable to travel due to COVID restrictions.

The guests were in for a major surprise on the evening, not only were we finally able to have a dancefloor, but Charlotte, James and Charlotte’s Dad all took part in a choreographed dance! And it was amazing!

A warm night meant lots of guests out on the decking of The Boathouse, with festoon lighting and a BBQ for the evening buffet!

What a perfect day!

Mr & Mrs Thresh, you finally got there!
